Floral Half Sleeve

This half sleeve tattoo was done in two back-to-back days on Monica's client, Amanda, who traveled from Illinois, after for looking for an artist like Monica for 7 years. She requested a warmer palette with a subtle fade to black and grey, which Monica produced with the reds and oranges, complete with a subtle transition to grey at the bottom of the composition. This half sleeve is a masterclass in design. Monica places the main flower in the top two thirds of the "canvas," starting the viewers eye there. The shape of the flowers cause the eye to meander down to the bottom peony, and stretches it to the black and grey leaves. By Monica Snyder.
