Leg Panel I

This groundbreaking portfolio piece was Deanna's first ever full leg panel. It features a replication of a painting from one of the most famous modern artists, Roberto Ferri. Deanna's masterful use of skin tones in the piece, complete with green, red, and blue undertones, are reminiscent of the old masters of the Baroque era. The color palette is intelligently composed, with the orange of the skin as the main color, a red rose placed at the bottom to balance the red drapery at the top of the piece, and subtle green leaves providing a tasteful accent color. The blackwork that frames the piece was largely free-handed, fitting her client's leg perfectly. This piece was completed in 3 days at the Sinners Tattoo Convention, and was awarded Best of Show over some of the world's top tattoo artists. A landmark work, Deanna has since done dozens of leg panels in this style, a signature of her's. This style and placement has inspired countless tattoo artists, and pieces like this are now very commonly entered in contests at tattoo conventions around the world. By Deanna James.
