Nick Baxter is from New Haven, Connecticut and works in illustrative color. His work is characterized by surrealism and biomechanical elements.
Nick had an unconventional childhood, growing up on his family's boat traveling around the Northeast, instilling him with an adventurer's spirit. Nick attended art school in Connecticut. While he originally had an interest in graphic design, still life drawing and painting classes piqued his interest and started a lifelong journey to become a classical painter.
Nick eventually chose to pursue a tattoo apprenticeship and traveled around the world, learning from experts about tattooing and classical painting/drawing. During this time Nick also began to exhibit and sell his art professionally.
In 2008 Nick settled in Austin, Texas. In 2014 he opened his own shop, Art Realm. In the meantime, Nick has continued to further his own education and help educate others. He has received numerous accolades for both his tattoo work and physical artwork.
Nick's seminar will cover his layering techniques. He will also go over how to think outside of the box regarding your tattoo designs, regardless of the style that you work in, and how to formulate strategies to take on large and complex multi-session tattoo projects.
